Scout Headquarters

The Scout Headquarters is used by a number of community groups. The Scout Headquarters building consists of a small entrance area with coat hanging facilities, a hall, kitchen, both mens and ladies toilets plus an enclosed grassed area to the front. There are also chairs, tables should you need them.

If you would like to know more about hiring our premises on either a regular basis or for a one-off function such as a birthday party, please contact our HQ Bookings Manager
Dawn Carter by email dawn.carter@1stbishopsstortford.org.uk.

1st Bishop's Stortford and Hockerill Scout Group's Headquarters is located by the water tower at the entrance to Birchanger Wood, just off Heath Row in Bishops Stortford.

This is where Sections hold their weekly meetings, unless they are taking part in activities off-site - please see programme downloads on Section pages for details.

For safety reasons, please do not drive down the path to the Headquarters.

Priory Wood

Our woodland campsite is regularly used by other groups, providing an excellent environment for outdoor activities from Nursery School nature visits to Scout camping trips.

If you would like to find out more about hiring the campsite, please click here.

Priory Wood can be found on Bury Lodge Lane (opposite Thremhall Park), off the B1256, half a mile east of Junction 8 of the M11. The entrance to the campsite is 100m beyond the Thremhall Park barrier. You are able to park on either side of the road and then walk past the barrier and through the gates to the right which lead to the campsite.
